Our Airstream
We like to call our Airstream experience, camping for people who don't like camping :)
I'm going to start out by saying, I can be a *little* high maintenance at times, Steven can definitely attest to that but buying the Airstream made me realize how much I was missing out on. I have never camped before, I stayed in a cabin once when I was about 12 years old with the girl scouts, I don't think that counts. I remember mentioning to Steven that another blogger I follow just bought an RV and it actually looked super fun. Steven took full advantage of that and started searching for campers for us to buy.
Literally, within a few days he found one and flew to Mississippi to go pick it up. As you get to know us, you'll see that things like that aren’t very uncommon around here.
We purchased a 2020 Bambi rear bed, at 16ft long its adorable! Its big enough for just the two of us and our 12 pound pup. We use the bambi for short trips, usually 3 nights max and thats perfect for us. We have stayed at some absolutely beautiful state parks here in Florida. (favorite state parks post) Since we only use it for short periods of time, we rent it out on Outdoorsy and RV Share. (link to the listings) I love talking to each renter and seeing how excited they are for their trip, we really have met some awesome people.
Being able to enjoy the outdoors in an entirely different way has been amazing. We wake up and have our coffee outside. I LOVE food shopping and preparing our meals in advance, like borderline obsessed with the entire process. (campfire recipes post). I can't say we are exactly roughin’ it out there because we do bring an espresso machine, ice machine, and bidet :) (all linked) During the day we usually explore the park or stay somewhat local to hike, ride our bikes (bike rack linked), paddleboard and just explore. At night, we have a cocktail and make dinner over the fire, always ending with smores of course.
We are eventually hoping to get another larger airstream, to rent out, but also to take on longer trips. What can I say? I actually enjoy “our version of camping”!
